CNC Milling is the machining process that use rotary tools to remove material from a workpiece by advancing in a direction at an angle with tool axis. It is widely used for different operations and machines, on scales from small individual parts to large, heavy-duty gang milling operations. It is one of the most commonly used processes in industry and machine shops today for machined parts with precise sizes and shapes.
CNC Turning refers to a process which a single-point cutting tool is used parallelly to the material. The material can be stone, wood, metal, or plastic, and the material will be rotated so that the cutting tool traverses across both axes; for eg, a metal tube can be turned both on the inside and outside; when the turning is internal it is called boring.
CNC Drilling is a cutting process that cut a hole of circular cross-section by a drill bit in solid materials. The drill bit is usually a rotary cutting tool, often multipoint. The bit is pressed against the workpiece and rotated at rates from hundreds to thousands of revolutions per minute. This forces the cutting edge against the workpiece, cutting off chips (swarf) from the hole as it is drilled.
